Michael Penix Jr May Start Against Bears Despite Injury

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is set to play in the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears, pending there are no issues with his rib injury, Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed. Penix, who suffered the injury during a game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month, participated fully in Wednesday’s practice. He managed every throw and took all first-team snaps.
The incident occurred when Penix was hit hard in the last quarter of the Falcons’ recent game, causing him to briefly leave the field. He returned shortly after but was replaced by Tua Tagovailoa when the game went into overtime. Following the injury, Penix underwent some medical imaging, the results of which came back positive, according to him. ‘They’re good,’ Penix remarked about his ribs, adding that they are improving daily and emphasizing his commitment to rigorous rehabilitation.
